Disconnection of Electricity Service
Upon receipt of a written request from the homeowner or contractor (Outage Request Form), Hydro 2000 Inc. will disconnect the supply of electricity at your cost. If the service is disconnected for more than six months, the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) may require that the service conforms to the current electrical code. We recommend you call the ESA at 1-877-372-7233 or visit https://esasafe.com/ regarding possible electrical contractor work and ESA permit / inspection fees.
Before we can re-energise your property, a Connection Authorization from ESA will be required.
Upgrading Service / Electrical Panel, Relocating Your Meter
If your renovation includes upgrading your electrical service/panel and/or moving your electric meter outdoors, call our Customer Service Desk at 613.679.4093
You will more than likely require a Disconnection of Electricity Service.Tree Trimming
When trees are close to overhead power lines, public safety and the uninterrupted supply of electricity can be compromised.
While respecting the contribution that trees make to our quality of life, Hydro 2000 Inc trims trees located in our distribution area through a regular maintenance program. Tree contact with overhead power lines can cause fires, equipment damage or cause power outages.
Hydro 2000 Inc. offers a program to clients who wish to have trees on the property cut or trimmed. In the spring and fall, our contractor can do the work at a fixed price. You can obtain an estimate by calling our office; we will act as intermediary between you and our contractor. By grouping the work for numerous persons, you will save. Hydro 2000 Inc. manages this program without any administrative fees.
If you notice a tree near an overhead power line, or you need a temporary outage to trim or remove a tree on your property, please contact us by telephone at 613.679.4093 between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Thursday and between 8am and 2:30pm on Friday.
